Dougie Howlett to play for Munster

I know it’s a bit off topic but I thought I’d do a small post on it.

Doug Howlett, the 60 times capped All Black wing, has agreed to join Munster after the current World Cup. Reports conflict about whether the player has joined for 1 or 2 seasons but he is sure to be a great addition to the men in red. He follows fellow Kiwis Christan Cullen and Rua Tipoki to the province as the steady flow of All Blacks leaving New Zealand continues.

I was lucky enough to see Howlett play for Auckland Blues in the NPC final a couple of years ago while holidaying there and he was a sight to behold, running in a couple of tries. Let’s hope he doesn’t sign off his international career in style if, as expected Ireland meet the All Blacks in the quarters.

PS : Just saw Gerry’s post in the News section on this – apologies.
