The BOD to lead the Baa-Baas

O’Driscoll to lead the Barbarians (RTE).

Brian O’Driscoll will captain the Barbarians against South Africa when the sides meet at Twickenham on 1 December. Eddie O’Sullivan shall be his coach. And it seems that Eddie will have quite the squad at his disposal…

Invited thus far are All Blacks Jerry Collins and Sitiveni Sivivatu, Chris Latham, Matt Giteau and Rocky Elsom from Australia, and the Argentinian duo of Juan Martin Hernandez and Mario Ledesmo. From our own hemisphere there will be England’s Jason Robinson and Andrew Sheridan. French behemoth Sebastien Chabal will bruise and abuse. Martyn Williams and Tom Shanklin from Wales are also invited. However, best of all, The Fear Of God‘s champion Paul O’Connell shall also be present and correct. Hurrah!

I have a sneaking suspicion that Brian could be leading the Barbarians out against the world champions in December. A sneaky ‘fiver’ has already been placed. One on Chabal’s lot too. What say you?

  1. I still think my sly fiver on Japan is in with a shout!

  2. In the words of Kenny Cuningham, possibly so. But isn’t their best back injured? Might hinder their chances somewhat 🙂
