A little off topic, but topical none the less! Just read an article on the BBC website about a Tongan player, formerly known as Epi Taione (the same guy who bit a chunk out of Denis Leamy last year) who has changed his name, by deed poll, to Paddy Power for the upcoming World Cup!
It’s been revealed that the bookmakers have offered the Tongan team a five figure sum for the name changing stunt. Clever on their part, now the commentators are going to be shouting their name every time the big man gets the ball!
Somehow I can’t see Denis Hickie changing his name to Boyle Sports! Although for a five figure sum, I’d give it a lot of thought!
